The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Jigawa State Council, has congratulated the Emir of Dutse and Patron of the Union, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Hamim Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, on his appointment as the Chancellor of Sokoto State University.
The commendation was contained in a statement jointly signed by the NUJ State Chairman, Comrade Isma’il Ibrahim Dutse, and the Acting Secretary, Comrade Aminu Umar Shuwajo.

The statement described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of the Emir’s distinguished leadership, exemplary service, and enduring contributions to education and national development.

According to the Council, the Emir’s wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to public service would significantly enhance the university’s academic excellence, institutional growth, and strategic development.

The Union also recalled the longstanding relationship between the Dutse Emirate and Sokoto State University, noting that the late Emir of Dutse, Alhaji (Dr.) Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, served as the institution’s pioneer Chancellor following his appointment by former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

It further noted that the late monarch’s tenure was renewed by former Governor Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in recognition of his exceptional service and dedication to the university.

The Council expressed optimism that the appointment of the current Emir would further consolidate the university’s academic and administrative advancement through purposeful leadership, innovative ideas, and a sustained commitment to excellence.
The NUJ, Jigawa State Council, concluded by praying to Almighty Allah to grant His Royal Highness wisdom, sound health, and divine guidance as he assumes the responsibilities of his new office.
