Police Recover Stolen N20m Toyota Sienna in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has recovered a Toyota Sienna motor vehicle valued at ₦20 million and handed it over to its rightful owner, Mr. Ali Alti.

Police Public Relations Officer, of the command Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, stated this in a statement issued to newsmen on Sunday.

The statement said, the recovery followed the implementation of the Inspector-General of Police’s directive on strategic intelligence-led visibility patrols. 

It was reported that, the maroon-coloured vehicle, with registration number RBC-801HM, was reportedly stolen on January 5, 2026, from Maiduguri GRA in Borno State by a security watchman.

He said police operatives attached to Hotoro Police Division recovered the vehicle at Hotoro Arewa Quarters, Kano, on January 7, 2026.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, ordered the immediate handover of the vehicle to the owner after due verification of ownership documents.

Meanwhile, four suspects are currently under investigation in connection with the theft, which originated from Maiduguri.

The Commissioner of Police advised members of the public to exercise caution when employing individuals for domestic and security-related services, noting that vigilance remains key to crime prevention.
