Jigawa LG council takes steps to address out of school children

Babura Local Government Council says it has taken a Measures to reduce the number Out-of-School Children in the council.

Local Government council information officer Suleman Daudu Babura disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday.

The Babura Local Government Council chairman said, reducing the number of out of school children in the is one of the top priority of his administration.

He said , the decision was reached during the stakeholders’ meeting chaired by Chairman of the Council, Honourable Hamisu Muhammad Garu, aimed to deliberate on strategies for improving school enrolment and retention.

According to the Chairman, the measures include sustained support for education initiatives, public enlightenment campaigns to sensitize parents and guardians on the importance of education, identification of key challenges responsible for the problem, and the development of practical solutions to address them.

He further revealed that sub-committees have been constituted to ensure the success of the programme. 

The sub-committees comprise district and village heads, officials from the education department, and other relevant stakeholders, who will work collectively to drive the initiative at the grassroots level.

Honourable Hamisu Muhammad Garu therefore called on parents and guardians to support the education drive in line with the vision of His Excellency, Governor Umar Namadi, towards securing a brighter future for the children and overall development of the state.
