The Jigawa State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, said it will partner with National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) on combating human trafficking, child labour, forced migration, sexual exploitation, and other forms of human rights violations across Jigawa State.
This was contained in a press statement signed by ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud Public Relations Officer NSCDC Jigawa State Command issued to newsmen.
The statement said, the Commandant disclosed this when he paid a country visit to NAPTIP State Commander, Abdulkadir Mahmoud Turajo, at the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) State Command Headquarters in Dutse, on Thursday.
Ingawa said, there is urgent need for stronger synergy among security and law enforcement agencies, describing human trafficking as a multi-dimensional crime requiring coordinated intelligence, joint enforcement operations, and aggressive community awareness.
According to him “The NSCDC remains fully committed to supporting NAPTIP in every necessary area to curb human trafficking and protect vulnerable citizens. Strengthening our partnership is essential to preventing exploitation, promoting human dignity, and ensuring safer communities throughout Jigawa State.”
NAPTIP Commander Turajo expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the NSCDC for its professionalism, consistent collaboration, and visible support in previous operations.
He emphasized that the renewed partnership would significantly boost ongoing efforts to prevent trafficking, rescue victims, and prosecute offenders.
