The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s well-known infinity signature represents freedom from poverty and freedom from the lingering grip of military rule following Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999.
Prof. Yilwatda made the explanation while speaking on the symbolism associated with the President’s signature style and cap, noting that it has deep political and historical meaning within the Tinubu political movement.
According to him, the infinity sign reflects Tinubu’s long-standing belief in economic freedom, democratic sustainability and the uninterrupted progress of Nigeria’s democracy. He added that it also signifies liberation from “junta entanglement,” referencing the influence and control of military rule before the handover to civilian government in 1999.
The APC chairman further disclosed that Tinubu’s staunch loyalists began wearing the signature cap as a mark of freedom and solidarity, symbolising their commitment to democratic ideals and progressive governance
