Voting has commenced in the Garki/Babura Federal Constituency of Jigawa State with a large turnout of voters across various polling units.
STANDARD TRUST observed that election materials arrived early in most of the polling centers visited in Garki and Babura local government areas, with voting beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m. under tight security presence.
At Islamiyya Primary School polling unit 013 in Garki, a voter, Hussaini Isah, confirmed that election officials arrived as early as 7:00 a.m. and immediately began the accreditation process.
Similarly, at Kofar Gabas polling unit in Babura, voting commenced at exactly 8:00 a.m., attracting a massive turnout of electorates.
Malama Lami, a voter at polling unit 003 in Babura, said she had already cast her ballot and was patiently waiting for the counting of votes.
“I am happy today to have exercised my civic right. The process was smooth, transparent, and peaceful,” she stated.
Other voters also expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, commending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for ensuring a credible and peaceful process.
