Women’s groups in Jigawa State have on Thursday staged another peaceful protest, urging members of the public to stop politicising the case and allow the Department of State Services (DSS) and the court to handle the matter in accordance with the law.
The women Groups who held from all the 27 Local Government staged the protest at Government House, Dutse, the state capital.
The women carrying play cards with different inscription such as “Walida is not a tool for politics, support Court and state Government of you really care” , “Stop politicising walida’s case, leave DSS to handle ” “Walida is safe DSS is transparent, court is handling the matter right” among other.
Leading the protest chairperson of Jigawa Women Development initiative Aisha Shamsuddeen said, the protest became necessary over alleged politicising the case by some individuals.
She stated that, authorities are currently handling the case in a right manner, therefore any attempt by individuals may hamper with the process may hinder justice.
According to the group” Walida is safe, DSS is transparent, court is handling the matter right, therefore allow them to handle it” Aisha said.
They commended Governor Umar Namadi for his efforts in taking
the case and ensure the release of Walida to state Government ‘s care.
It was reported that,Governor Umar Namadi has assured that the Jigawa State Government will pursue the case involving Walida Abdulhadi to its logical and legal conclusion.
