Political tension in Rivers State has escalated following an alleged reports that Governor Siminalayi Fubara ordered the immediate closure of a hotel allegedly linked to former governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

According to the governor directed the removal of individuals believed to be loyal to Wike from strategic positions within the Government House, signaling a deepening rift between both camps.

According to insiders, Fubara is drawing a firm line against what he described as entrenched godfatherism in the state’s political structure.

The governor was quoted as vowing to pursue the political struggle “to the very end,” insisting that Rivers State must be freed from undue external influence.
