The Jigawa State Police Command has recovered a stolen vehicle following a robbery incident in Hadejia Local Government Area.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam.

According to the statement, the police received a distress call at about 3:50 a.m. on 2 December 2025, reporting a case of criminal conspiracy, house trespass, and armed robbery at Gawuna Quarters, Hadejia LGA. During the attack, a golden Toyota Corolla LE with registration number HJA-15 AP and several mobile phones were forcefully taken away by suspected robbers.

Upon receiving the report, a team of policemen was immediately deployed to the scene and launched a coordinated pursuit of the fleeing suspects.

“The robbers abandoned the stolen vehicle and escaped into a nearby bush, thereby evading arrest,” the statement said.

The police successfully recovered the vehicle, which is now in custody for further investigation. Items found inside the car include five cutlasses, a knife, two torchlights, and a turban, believed to belong to the assailants.

SP Shiisu added that efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects.

The Command assured the public of its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement or criminal activity to the nearest police station.
