The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested thirteen suspected drug dealers following a series of coordinated raids on criminal hideouts across the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued to STANDARD TRUST NEWS in Dutse.
According to him, the operations were carried out between September 2 and 6, 2025, as part of renewed efforts to rid Jigawa State of crime and criminality.
Crack teams of policemen drawn from Dutse, Guri, Birnin Kudu, Bamaina, Babura, and Roni Divisions acted on credible intelligence regarding the activities of drug dealers, barons, and other miscreants disturbing public peace.
“During the raids, thirteen (13) suspected drug dealers and barons were arrested, and 704 pieces of Exol tablets, 264 Tramadol capsules, three Diazepam tablets, 2,042 D5 tablets, and four blocks of Indian hemp were recovered from the suspects,” SP Shiisu revealed.
He added that the suspects will be charged to court after the conclusion of discreet investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, reiterated the Command’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens. He warned all criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities or face the full wrath of the law.
CP Muhammad also called on members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information to the police to enable proactive responses to criminal activities.
