The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a notorious and long-wanted armed robbery suspect, Shua’aibu Musa.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued to newsmen by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam.
According to the statement, the suspect, who had been on the police watchlist, was arrested on Sunday by operatives of the Taura Division in connection with the theft of a camel.
SP Shiisu explained that investigations revealed Musa to be a wanted armed robbery suspect who had earlier been declared wanted by the police.
“Following credible intelligence, the suspect was tracked and arrested. During the operation, a camel suspected to have been stolen was recovered from him,” the police spokesman said.
He added that the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Dutse, for thorough investigation and possible prosecution.
