The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected notorious drug dealers following a series of intelligence-led raids across different parts of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, confirmed the development in a statement issued to newsmen on Saturday.
According to him, the coordinated operations, carried out on October 18, 2025, led to the arrest of three suspects who had long been on the police watchlist for their alleged involvement in the trafficking and distribution of illicit substances within Jigawa and neighboring states.
SP Shiisu disclosed that the raids resulted in the recovery of 23,944 assorted hard drugs and intoxicants, including 13,505 tablets of Exol-5, 1,583 tablets of D5, 3,572 Tramadol capsules, 565 Diazepam tablets, 2,469 bottles of Rubber Solution, 886 wraps and blocks of Cannabis (Indian Hemp), and 340 packs of Farin Malam, among others.
The suspects, identified as Muhammad Garba, Musa Garba, and Hudu Ma’ilu, all natives of Guneri village in Malamawa District of the Niger Republic, were apprehended during the operation.
SP Shiisu added that the suspects are currently in police custody undergoing thorough investigation and will be charged to court upon the completion of preliminary inquiries.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, commended the officers for their gallantry and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining its fight against drug trafficking and abuse.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to support the police with credible information that could lead to the arrest of criminals and the dismantling of illicit drug networks across the state.
