Police arrest five suspected armed robbery suspects in Jigawa

Police in Jigawa State have arrested five suspected armed robbery suspects terrorising Ringim local Governments axis.

Spokesman of the command, SP. Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday.

He said, the suspects were apprehended following the attack of a 32-year-old man from Unguwar Kanti Quarters, Ringim Town and robbed him while riding his motorcycle from Zangon Kanya Village to Ringim town.

He explained that, the victim was struck on the forehead with a heavy stick, causing him to fall and sustain injuries. 

The suspects takeaway Two (2) Moniepoint POS terminal machines, One MP4 device,  ATM cards and Cash sum of Nine Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira (₦940,000.00). 

He said, following a prompt response by police detectives from Ringim Division,  a 20 year old Abdullahi Danladi of Almajirawa Village, was arrested as prime suspect.

Further investigation also led to the arrest of his accomplices, namely: Manu Sabo of Ba’awa Settlement, Sani Usman  of Kukuwa Settlement, Maikudi Ya’u of Gidan Zomo Settlement were arrested.

He said, the two Moniepoint POS terminals and one ATM card were recovered in their possession. 

The suspects were transferred to SCID for diligent investigation and prosecution.
