The Managing Director of Kano State Transport Authority (Kano Line), Hon. Alhaji Saidu Abdullahi Shuaibu, has been honoured with a distinguished award by the Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria (SCIAN), Kano State Chapter.
The recognition was presented during an award ceremony held on Saturday in Kano metropolis, where outstanding individuals were celebrated for their contributions to governance, social development, and support for people living with disabilities.
Other awardees included the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf; Hon. Amina Sani Abdullahi HOD, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and People with Special Needs; Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs; and Engr. Mustapha Habu (Engausa), among others.
The event drew an array of dignitaries. Governor Yusuf served as the Special Guest of Honour, while the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, graced the occasion as the Royal Father of the Day.
The Chief Host was Hon. Amina Abdullahi, Commissioner for Women, Children and Disabilities, and the Guest of Honour was Prof. Abdurrashid Garba, Vice Chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Saidu Abdullahi Shuaibu expressed deep appreciation to SCIAN for the recognition, dedicating the award to the staff and management of Kano Line.
He noted that the honour would further motivate the agency to enhance its services and commitment to the people of Kano State.
The award ceremony highlighted SCIAN’s commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of persons with spinal cord injuries, while promoting inclusive governance and sustainable community development.
