Jigawa top list of phase ll voter’s registration Nationwide

Jigawa State has emerged as the leading state in Nigeria’s ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, recording the highest number of new registrants nationwide.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a total of 1,228,648 eligible Nigerians completed their registration under Phase II, Week Six of the CVR as of February 13, 2026.

Of this figure, Jigawa accounts for 98,698 new voters, representing 8.03 per cent of the national total — the highest recorded by any state so far.

INEC disclosed the figures in an update posted on its official X handle on Thursday.

Trailing behind Jigawa are Lagos with 86,307 registrants, Sokoto with 77,004, and Kano with 71,990.

The latest total marks a substantial increase from the 884,737 registrations recorded at the end of Week Five, reflecting a surge in citizen participation across the country.

A breakdown of the data shows that: 673,124 applicants initiated their registration through the online pre-registration portal.

555,524 individuals completed the process physically at designated registration centres nationwide.
Youths, Women Dominate Registrations

INEC’s statistics further reveal that,
Youth (18–34 years): 848,066 (69.02%), Female: 696,891 (57%)
Male: 531,757 (43%), Persons with Disabilities (PWDs): 19,414.
