Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse, under the leadership of its Rector, Dr. Suleiman Ahmad Badayi, has secured full re-accreditation for its Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes.
The development was announced in a statement signed by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Salima Aminu Sa’ad, and made available to newsmen.
According to the statement, the team leader of the accreditation exercise, Dr. Olusola Bode Oke, disclosed the outcome while presenting the results to the Polytechnic Management. Dr. Oke commended the institution’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and quality assurance.
She said the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) team expressed satisfaction with the Polytechnic’s performance after a comprehensive assessment covering Leadership, Management, and Organization; Student Support and Progression; Curriculum Organization and Implementation; Infrastructure and Learning Resources; and Assessment and Evaluation.
In his remarks, the Rector, Dr. Suleiman Ahmad Badayi, appreciated the 13-member accreditation team—comprising three NCCE officials and seven subject experts drawn from tertiary institutions across Nigeria—for their professionalism and dedication throughout the exercise.
Dr. Badayi also lauded Governor Umar Namadi Danmodi for his administration’s continuous support to the Polytechnic, especially in providing developmental projects such as a mini solar grid and ongoing renovations aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning environment.
He explained that the Polytechnic’s College of Technical and Vocational Education currently runs two departments — the Department of Technical Education and the Department of Vocational Education — both offering NCE programmes.
According to him, the NCE Technical Education programme received full re-accreditation to continue running courses in Automobile Technology, Building Technology, Electrical/Electronic Technology, Metal Work Technology, and Woodwork Technology.
Similarly, the NCE Business Education programme also received full re-accreditation for its courses in Accounting, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Office Technology and Management.
The Rector reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to sustaining academic excellence and producing skilled graduates who will contribute meaningfully to national development.
