Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has relieved Rabi’u Garba Kaugama of his appointment as Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters.
The development was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, on Monday.
According to the statement, the disengagement takes immediate effect, and all rights and privileges attached to the office have been withdrawn. Kaugama was also directed to hand over all government property in his possession to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the State without delay.
Although the statement did not disclose the reason behind the decision, it comes amid recent political developments in the state.
It will be recalled that only recently, the Senior Special Assistant on Health Monitoring, Zakari Sidi Kafin Hausa, resigned from his position, citing “current political developments in the state” and his intention to explore opportunities in the private sector.
