Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has signed into law a ₦75 billion supplementary budget for the 2025 fiscal year.
The budget, which was passed by the State House of Assembly last week after due scrutiny, comprises ₦58 billion for the state government and ₦17.109 billion for the 27 local government councils.
Governor Namadi explained that the supplementary appropriation would boost ongoing projects and programmes across critical sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and other developmental initiatives.
In December 2024, the governor had presented a ₦698.3 billion budget for 2025. With the newly approved supplementary budget, the state’s total appropriation now stands at ₦756.3 billion.
