The Jigawa State Government has declared Wednesday, August 27, 2025, as a work-free day to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the state’s creation.
This was contained in a statement signed by the State Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, and issued to STANDARD TRUST NEWS by Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse, Public Relations Officer, Office of the Head of the Civil Service, on Tuesday.
The government congratulated the people of Jigawa on the anniversary and urged them to use the occasion to pray for the continued peace, unity, and progress of both the state and Nigeria at large.
“It is hoped that all public servants and the entire people of the state will utilise the one-day break to thank Almighty Allah for His blessings and the gift of peaceful coexistence,” the statement read.
Jigawa State was created out of the old Kano State on August 27, 1991, by the then Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
