INEC Declares APC’s Mukhtar Rabiu Winner of Garki/Babura Federal Constituency By-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mukhtar Rabiu, as the winner of the Garki/Babura Federal Constituency by-election.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Isma’il Ibrahim, announced the result at the INEC office in Babura after the completion of collation.

According to him, Mukhtar Rabiu of the APC polled 38,449 votes to defeat his closest rival, Isah Auwalu Manzo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 13,519 votes, while Sabo Salisu of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) secured 2,931 votes.

Prof. Ibrahim said the election was duly conducted, votes counted, and the APC candidate emerged winner with the highest number of valid votes.

“That Mukhtar Rabiu of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” the Returning Officer declared.
