The Federal Government has called on Nigerians to remain calm despite the growing diplomatic tension between Nigeria and the United States.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the appeal in Dutse, Jigawa State, during a courtesy visit to Governor Umar A. Namadi.

According to Idris, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu possesses the leadership capacity and diplomatic skill needed to safeguard Nigeria from destabilizing forces and to repair any strain in the nation’s relationship with international allies.

“President Tinubu has all it takes to secure Nigeria from destabilizing elements, as well as mend any cracks in our nation’s relationship with our international friends and partners. Nigerians should, therefore, remain calm,” he said.

The minister was in Jigawa to participate in the North West 2025 Youth Parley and the presentation of President Tinubu’s achievements after two years in office.

The call for calm follows heightened public anxiety after U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly threatened to “wipe out jihadist groups killing Christians in Nigeria.”

Trump’s remarks have sparked a flurry of interpretations and concerns among Nigerians, prompting government officials to reassure citizens that the situation is under control.

Responding Governor Umar Namad commended the Federal Government for the initiative, saying that, the submit is timely to portray achievements of the present administration
