A 35 year old Fatima Abubakar and her Six children were brutally killed during a violent attack on their home by suspected hoodlums in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters in Kano.
Eyewitness told newsmen that, the victims were attacked after assailants reportedly broke into their residence at about 12:10pm on Friday.
He said, the incident has thrown the Dorayi Chiranchi community into mourning, with residents expressing shock and grief over the killing of an entire family in their home.
Spokesman for Kano State Police Command SP. Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the incident in a statement issued to newsmen.
According to the police, the assailants used dangerous weapons, inflicting fatal injuries on all the victims.
“Following a distress call, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, immediately mobilised a team of officers to the scene”
The victims were evacuated and rushed to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where medical personnel pronounced them dead.
He said the cause of the attacked is not known however a comprehensive investigation was constituted by the state commissioner of police to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack and apprehend those responsible.
The Command extended its condolences to the bereaved family, the Dorayi Chiranchi community and the people of Kano State.
He reassured the command commitment to bring the perpetrators to justice.
