The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to life imprisonment.
Delivering the judgment, the presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, imposed a life sentence on counts one, two, four, five, and six, choosing life imprisonment over the death penalty.
Kanu was also handed a 20-year prison term on count three, without the option of a fine, as well as a five-year sentence on count seven, also without an option of a fine.
Justice Omotosho delivered the sentences after finding Kanu guilty on all seven charges bordering on terrorism.
