The Jigawa State House of Assembly has passed into law a supplementary budget of ₦75 billion for the 2025 fiscal year.

The approval followed the adoption of the report of the House Committee on Appropriation, presented during Thursday’s plenary session presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sani Isyaku Abubakar.

Presenting the report, the Committee Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Hamza Adamu, explained that the supplementary budget comprised ₦58 billion for the state government and ₦17.109 billion for the 27 local government councils.

Deputy Speaker Abubakar said the funds would be channeled towards infrastructural development, healthcare services, youth empowerment, and other priority areas.

Governor Umar Namadi had earlier presented a ₦698.3 billion budget for 2025 in December 2024. With the supplementary appropriation, the total budget now stands at ₦756.3 billion.

According to the Assembly, the additional funds will boost ongoing projects and programs across key sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure.
