Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a minor reshuffle in his cabinet and senior civil service aimed at enhancing governance and improving service delivery.
The changes were announced in a statement issued late Monday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa. He explained that the adjustments affected key ministries, including Justice, Transport, Environment, and Humanitarian Affairs.
Under the new arrangement, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Isa Dederi, has been redeployed to head the Ministry of Transport. Similarly, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad, has been reassigned as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment.
The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, who had been overseeing the Transport Ministry on an interim basis, will now return fully to his original post.
Governor Yusuf directed all affected officials to hand over to the most senior officers in their respective ministries and complete the transition process by Tuesday, September 23.
According to the statement, the governor said the move was part of efforts to strengthen his administration’s capacity to fulfill its commitments to the people of Kano State.
