Police Arrest Four Suspects Over Car Theft, Cattle Rustling in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested four suspects over alleged involvement in car theft and cattle rustling in Hadejia Local Government Area.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Sunday.

According to him, three suspects  Amadu Dan Zaria, Salisu Ya’u, and Musa Muhammad  were apprehended in connection with the theft of a Daihatsu motor vehicle on September 17, 2025, around 11:30 a.m. in Hadejia. The stolen car was recovered in good condition, and investigation is ongoing. The suspects will be charged in court after the conclusion of a discreet inquiry.

In a separate operation, police operatives working with a local vigilante group, Yanbulala, intercepted a suspected cattle rustler, Isah Muhammad of Garin Mutum Daya in Kirakasamma LGA, at Kwanar Bazawarai in Hadejia town. 

He was arrested while in possession of two bulls believed to have been stolen. Preliminary investigation is underway, with efforts intensified to apprehend his accomplices.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, commended the officers for their vigilance and assured residents that the command will sustain patrols, raids, and surveillance to curb crime across the state.

He also urged members of the public to remain law-abiding, security-conscious, and to provide the police with credible information that would aid in crime prevention and detection.
