About 792 women have dumped the main opposition party People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State.
The decamped members were received by the wife of the Governor, Amb,Dr. Amina Umar Namadi, in Birnin Kudu local Government.
She said, the development indicated the good leadership of present administration under Governor Umar Namadi and it’s commitments in improving the lives of its citizens especially women and Youth.
Mrs. Namadi however congratulated the women and assured them that the APC doors remain open to all who wish to join the movement for the state’s development.
Also speaking at the event, Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, assured thePresent administration ‘s commitment to improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
He noted that since the inception of present administration, state Government has introduced series of programmes and policies for the development of the state.
According to him ” the present administration has excelled among his counterparts in delivering the dividends of democracy to its citizens”.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors Amina Waina said , the women shifted their loyalty to the present administration due to its commitment in supporting women.
They assured to continue mobilizing women to support the present administration coming 2027 general election.
