The newly established Coalition of Climate Action, Economic Empowerment and Responsive Governance in Jigawa State has elected its maiden leadership team, marking a major step toward strengthening inclusive governance and sustainable development in the state.
The coalition, a platform that unites voices in civic engagement, governance, and development, seeks to promote economic empowerment, address climate-related challenges, and enhance social protection systems for communities across Jigawa.
At the leadership helm, Comrade Shuaibu Musa Kafingana was elected Co-Chair, Mustapha Babura emerged as Chairman on Economic Empowerment, while Ahmed Ilallah will chair the Climate Action arm. Other members were also appointed to lead strategic areas of the coalition’s mission.
Speaking after the elections, Co-Chairman Kafingana pledged that the team would work tirelessly to deliver “real and lasting impact” that places Jigawa’s development at the forefront. He urged members and partners to remain united and committed to the coalition’s objectives.
He also expressed gratitude to the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE), supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), for their instrumental role in shaping and supporting the initiative.
“With climate action and economic empowerment as our strategic pillars, we are determined to drive sustainable growth and strengthen community resilience in Jigawa State,” Kafingana said.
