The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Governorship Candidate in the 2023 general election, Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, has joined the people of Jigawa State in commemorating the 34th anniversary of the state’s creation.
In a goodwill message on Wednesday, Ringim described the anniversary as a moment for reflection and renewed commitment to progress. He commended the state government for organizing the celebration and bringing past leaders together, but stressed that such occasions should go beyond self-praise.
According to him, “Anniversaries like this should be used to review what has worked, what has failed, and how we can do better for the future.”
The NNPP leader expressed concern over the economic hardship facing the people of Jigawa and urged the government to focus on key sectors that directly impact citizens’ lives.
He listed education, healthcare, agriculture, and job creation as areas requiring urgent attention. Ringim called for the provision of adequate teachers and learning materials in schools, improved healthcare delivery, modern farming inputs for farmers, and creation of employment opportunities for youths to reduce unemployment and curb drug abuse.
“When these issues are addressed, poverty will be reduced, and insecurity will decline,” he said.
Ringim also extended his congratulations to the five emirs of Jigawa—Hadejia, Kazaure, Gumel, Ringim, and Dutse—as well as religious leaders, women, youths, elders, and people living with disabilities, whose resilience, he noted, continues to drive the state forward.
He paid tribute to Jigawa workers, especially those who served during the state’s transition from Kano in 1991, acknowledging their sacrifices in laying the foundation of the state.
As Jigawa marks its 34th anniversary, Ringim prayed for peace, unity, prosperity, and protection from social vices and flooding during the rainy season and beyond.
“Happy 34th anniversary, Jigawa State. May the years ahead be greater and more rewarding for all,” he added.
