Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has called on executives and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain steadfast, united, and committed to promoting the integrity of the party in order to sustain power at all levels.
Governor Namadi made the charge in Kazaure while flagging off the distribution of 120 motorcycles to APC ward executives across 12 local government areas in Jigawa North-West Senatorial District.
The motorcycles were donated by Senator Babangida Hussaini Kazaure, who represents the district at the National Assembly.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing the APC manifesto, stressing that the party’s programmes are designed to uplift the social and economic well-being of the people.
“APC executives and members are representatives of the government at the grassroots. They are expected to protect, promote, and strengthen the party wherever they are,” Namadi said, while commending Senator Babangida for the gesture and urging beneficiaries to make judicious use of the motorcycles.
In his remarks, Senator Babangida Hussaini explained that the donation was aimed at supporting ward chairmen and other APC stalwarts to effectively discharge their duties. He added that since his election in 2023, he had executed several constituency projects and provided personal interventions to empower party members and improve the lives of his constituents.
According to him, his projects include: Construction of hundreds of classroom blocks, Provision of medical equipment, drugs, and agricultural inputs, Sponsorship of training programmes for women and youth, Securing employment opportunities for constituents in federal ministries, parastatals, and security agencies.
Other achievements including, Built a Mathematics and Statistics Complex Hall at Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Constructed classroom blocks at GSS Kanti and GDSS Gada, Donated e-JAMB scratch cards to 50 students and Provided ₦50,000 each to BSc students and paid school fees for 106 Federal Government College Kazaure students for three years.
He further disclosed that over 60 youths across the 12 local governments were trained in shoe and bag making and empowered with take-off grants, while another set of youths received POS machines and ₦50,000 each to start businesses. He also distributed 18 trailers of NPK fertilizer to farmers to boost agricultural production.
In addition, Senator Babangida said he had renovated and modernized the Kazaure Emir’s Palace and upgraded township stadiums in Kazaure, Gumel, and Ringim to meet national league standards.
The senator appreciated Governor Namadi for his encouragement and pledged to continue offering quality representation and service to humanity.
