The Jigawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Mustapha Sule Lamido, has said that despite the achievements recorded by the state in 35 years, there are still significant development gaps that must be addressed.
Lamido stated this in a message commemorating the 35th anniversary of the creation of Jigawa State, where he acknowledged the progress made since the state was created.
He said Jigawa had “come a long way” and had several achievements to be proud of, but noted that more needed to be done to achieve the level of development the people aspire to.
According to him, “we still have more gaps to bridge and hurdles to cross in terms of where we aspire to be.”
The PDP governorship candidate further observed that when compared with other states, including those created around the same period, Jigawa still had a huge task ahead in its development journey.
Lamido called for greater unity, commitment and dedication among citizens to collectively work towards addressing the challenges facing the state.
He prayed to Allah to grant the people of Jigawa the unity and determination required to transform the state into a shining example in Nigeria and beyond.
He also congratulated the people of Jigawa on the 35th anniversary and prayed for the continued existence of the state in peace, good health and prosperity.
