Jigawa State Governor’s aide on New Media, Comrade Muhammad Garba, has criticised the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) over its poor performance in the just-concluded governorship election, where the party secured only 17,180 votes.
He stated this on Sunday on his official Facebook page while reacting over the Accord Party Victory’s that returned Adeleke for the second term.
He explained that, the results outcome clearly indicated how the President Bola Ahmad Tinubu proven himself as true Democrat by allowing the citizens to exercise their civic responsibility without interface.
According to him” The final results indicated that Adeleke secured victory in 19 of Osun State’s 30 Local Government Areas, while Oyebamiji won in 11. Adeleke recorded 511,067 votes against Oyebamiji’s 444,811, while African Democratic Congress (ADC), scored 17,180 votes.
Mr. Garba however criticized the African Democratic party ADC for its none performance in the election despite its outburst and propaganda.
“I have been telling our people this ADC will not make any impact it only exist in some few local Government in the North”
“I was shocked by the poor performance of the ADC in the just concluded Osun State governorship election” he said.
He explained that, the outcome goes beyond the figures recorded at the polls; it represents a significant expression of democratic choice.
” It also provides an opportunity to consider what the election means for the state of Nigeria’s democracy under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”
He said, President Tinubu has shown that occupying the presidency does not automatically mean that every election conducted during his administration must be won by his political party. That distinction is crucial to the survival of democracy.
“when electoral institutions are allowed to function independently and citizens are free to choose their leaders, it strengthens public confidence in democracy and demonstrates the resilience of Nigeria’s democratic institutions” He said.
