Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting peace, justice and the protection of human rights as part of efforts to build a more peaceful and prosperous state.

Governor Namadi stated this while receiving an Award of Excellence and his conferment as a Peace Ambassador by the Global Human Rights Network, Jigawa State Branch, during a courtesy visit on Wednesday.

The governor expressed appreciation to the organisation for recognising his administration’s efforts.

He pledged to continue supporting initiatives that advance human rights, peaceful coexistence and social harmony across Jigawa State.

“We are committed to promoting peace, justice and all activities that strengthen human rights and ensure a better future for our people,” the governor said.

Earlier, the Jigawa State Coordinator of the Global Human Rights Network, Yakubu Abbas, said the organisation is dedicated to creating awareness among underserved communities on their fundamental human rights while promoting equal opportunities for all citizens.

He explained that the network also advocates for the protection of children’s rights and campaigns against abuse, discrimination and other forms of social injustice to foster peace, unity and harmonious coexistence.
