Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has stressed the importance of early detection and preventive measures in reducing the growing burden of chronic kidney disease in the North-West region and across the country.

She stated this while speaking during the launch of two collaborative projects, Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu Academy and Oluremi Tinubu Clinic  organised by NITDA in Hadejia, Jigawa State, on Monday, aimed at developing solutions for the early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease .

The First Lady said the initiative represents a significant step towards addressing one of the country’s emerging public health challenges.

The First Lady commended  the Federal Government, NITDA  and partners involved in the initiative, describing the collaboration as a model for tackling complex health challenges through strategic partnerships

Director General NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa,  said, the clinic was build and fully equipped by FutureMap Foundation and eHealth Africa in honour of the First Lady for her passion for uplifting undeserved communities and vulnerable people.

He said, the  two projects were designed to work hand in hand by combining research, innovation, and community-based interventions to improve early screening, enhance awareness, and strengthen preventive healthcare services, particularly in vulnerable communities across the North-West.

Governor Umar Namadi commended the Federal Government for the establishment  Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy and the Oluremi Tinubu Clinic, two important public facilities built by NITDA Nigeria.

He noted that, the projects will expand access to quality education and healthcare for people while complementing our administration’s efforts in human capital development.

“I sincerely appreciate NITDA, under the leadership of its Director General, Malam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi for this thoughtful investment in Jigawa State and for the positive impact it will have on our communities” The Governor said.
