The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has successfully concluded its Local Government Congresses across the 27 local government areas of the state.

The congresses, held on Saturday, were conducted peacefully in all the local government headquarters monitored by our correspondent.

Areas visited by our correspondent including Ringim, Taura, Gagarawa, Jahun, and Miga recorded smooth exercises, with party executives elected by consensus in line with the party’s constitution.

Speaking at the Miga Local Government Congress, the member representing Kanya Babba Constituency in the Jigawa State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Information, attributed the peaceful conduct of the exercise to the exemplary leadership style of Governor Umar Namadi.

He said the governor’s inclusive approach has strengthened unity and stability within the party.

Local government party chairmen also commended the governor for fostering cohesion among party members.

They expressed satisfaction with his leadership and pledged to work closely with the newly elected executives to ensure the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.

In his remarks, APC stakeholder Hon. Yahaya Gidan Maza expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, citing what he described as growing support for the APC across the state.

He noted that key figures from opposition parties have aligned with the APC due to ongoing developmental projects, predicting victory for the party in future elections.

He advised the newly elected executives to promote inclusiveness and carry all members along to sustain peace, unity, and electoral success.

It was reported that the APC had earlier conducted its ward congresses across the state’s 287 wards on Wednesday, electing party leaders at the grassroots level.
