President Bola Tinubu and state governors have urged Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and tolerance as Christians celebrate Christmas. The call came as the faithful marked the birth of Jesus Christ across the country.

In his Christmas message, the President reaffirmed his commitment to religious freedom, stressing that no Nigerian should suffer or be harmed because of their faith. He described religious tolerance as a core national value that binds the country together.

Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to protecting the constitutional rights of all citizens to live and worship freely, regardless of religion or ethnicity.

He described Christmas as a season of hope and reflection, noting that Christians have continued to make significant contributions to national development and the care of the less privileged.

The President also said he has continued to engage leaders of major faiths to promote peaceful coexistence and prevent religious conflict across the country.

Tinubu wished Christians a Merry Christmas, urged travellers to be patient and disciplined on the roads, and prayed for peace and unity among Nigerians.
