The North west ACCORD National Working Committee and State Chairmen ACCORD Party has passed a vote of confidence on the party’s national leadership under the chairman, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Jigawa State Chairman of the ACCORD Party, Alhaji Adamu Isah Inshallah, and made available to National Update in Dutse on Sunday.
According to the statement, the vote of confidence was unanimously passed during a meeting of the North west ACCORD National Working Committee and state Chairmen held at Three Stars Hotel in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
The committee said the decision was in recognition of the “tireless efforts” of the national chairman in uniting, strengthening and repositioning the party across the country.
It dismissed reports alleging division or factionalisation within the party, describing such claims as misleading and unfounded.
North west ACCORD National Working Committee and state Chairmen urged Nigerians to disregard the reports and instead focus on the party’s manifesto, which it said contains programmes capable of moving the nation forward under an inclusive and people-oriented leadership.
In the statement, Alhaji Adamu Isah Indallah also condemned the actions of the party’s former presidential candidate, Professor Christopher Emumolen, accusing him of attempting to create confusion within the party.
He said Professor Emumolen was no longer a member of the ACCORD Party, having been expelled following his anti-party activities, where he recently allegedly supporting the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
The NEC further commended the Osun State Governor for what it described as a bold decision to join the ACCORD Party, assuring him of the party’s full support ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
It pledged the commitment of the party’s leadership and members in the North-West to mobilise resources and political structures to ensure victory for the ACCORD Party in the election.
