Thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) members from the Ringim/Taura Federal Constituency have endorsed the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties and Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Auwal Dalladi Sankara, urging him to contest for the House of Representatives seat in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Sunday, 16th November 2025, during a weekly Government–Citizens Engagement forum held in Taura Local Government Area. Representatives from the constituency’s 20 political wards jointly voiced their confidence in Hon. Sankara’s leadership capacity.
Speaking on behalf of supporters, Ibrahim Sani from Majiya Ward said the call became necessary due to the constituency’s yearning for a “capable and result-driven representative” who can attract federal projects and deliver meaningful development.
He lamented that previous representatives at the National Assembly had failed to bring visible progress to the constituency, adding that the people now seek a leader with a proven track record of service, compassion, and dedication.
“As Commissioner of Special Duties, Hon. Sankara has performed exceptionally well. His achievements have earned him Governor Namadi’s trust, commendations from the State Executive Council, and widespread acceptance. That is why he is celebrated as ‘Jakadan Alkhairi’ across Jigawa State,” Sani said.
He further vowed to mobilize with other committed constituents to persuade Hon. Sankara to heed their call, even if it requires appealing to the governor and key political stakeholders.
Also speaking, Sani Shawai from Taura reiterated their determination to purchase the 2027 nomination form for Hon. Sankara, describing the movement as a “rescue mission” aimed at ending what he termed poor representation.
“This is a rescue mission. We want to free our constituency from leaders who are disconnected from the people’s suffering and have failed to emulate the quality leadership style of Governor Malam Umar Namadi,” Shawai said.
The town hall meeting atmosphere became charged as supporters chanted slogans in favour of Hon. Sankara. The incumbent House of Representatives member, Hon. Sa’adu Wada Taura, who was in attendance, reportedly refrained from addressing the gathering to avoid being embarrassed by the crowd’s overwhelming show of support for his potential challenger.
