The Jigawa branch of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), an umbrella group for the Nigerian Muslim Community, has commended the Federal Government for subsidising the 2026 Hajj fare.
JNI’s Secretary in the state, Malam Muhammad Babangida, gave the commendation in a statement issued newsmen.
Babangida said the gesture was a clear response to the JNI and other Muslims leaders’ calls and testament to the government’s concern for the needs of its citizens.
He explaining that the intervention also demonstrated commitments to supporting Nigerians, particularly Muslims, in fulfilling their spiritual obligations.
Babangida added that the intervention would make it possible for many intending pilgrims to participate in the Hajj, being a significant aspect of their faith.
“With due respect and honour, Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Jigawa State extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Federal and Jigawa State Governments for their great efforts in subsidizing the Hajj fare for the 1447 (2026) Hajj exercise.
“We strongly appreciated the government’s recognition of the importance of Hajj and effort to make it more affordable to Nigerians.
“This support has not only eased the financial burden on pilgrims but has also contributed to the success of the Hajj operation.
“This initiative is a great part of good governance, as it shows responsiveness to the needs of the people,” he said.
He urged intending pilgrims who might make it to the Holy Land to use the opportunity and pray for the nation and its leadership for Allah’s guidance in driving economic growth, enhancing security, promotion unity and advancing human development.
“We sincerely appreciated this gesture and . we pray for Almighty Allah’s abundant reward for efforts made and guide leaders in steering the affairs of our nation well, the secretary added.
