The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sealed the Ameka Mining Site located in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday by the NSCDC National Public Relations Officer, CSC Babawale Afolabi. He explained that the operation was carried out in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.

According to him, the exercise is part of the Corps’ ongoing commitment to combating illegal mining activities and safeguarding Nigeria’s mineral resources from economic saboteurs.

Speaking after the operation, the Team Leader, Superintendent of Corps Emmanuel Nkoro, said the action reflects the NSCDC’s alignment with the Federal Government’s renewed efforts to sanitize the mining sector and promote lawful, transparent mineral exploitation.

He further assured that the NSCDC South-East Mining Marshals Team will remain committed to working with relevant agencies to enhance surveillance, strengthen enforcement, and sustain the government’s zero-tolerance stance against illegal mining across the region.
