The Jigawa State Police Command has confirmed the death of three people and injuries to seven others following a violent communal clash in Birniwa Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who disclosed this to newsmen said the incident occurred on Wednesday night when suspected criminals invaded Dagaceri Village, setting several houses ablaze and attacking residents.
According to him, a combined team of security operatives promptly responded to the distress call, restored order in the area, and arrested seven suspects linked to the violence.
He further stated that mobile phones and local charms were recovered from the scene.
SP Shiisu noted that investigations are ongoing to determine the root cause of the attack, while urging residents to strengthen community policing efforts and adopt early warning mechanisms to avert future incidents.
