The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, has urged new members of the party to actively participate in all party activities, assuring them of equal rights and opportunities.

He made the call while receiving 66,400 defectors from opposition parties during a grand rally held at the Dutse Mini Stadium.

Dr. Yilwatda described the massive defection as a clear indication of the people’s confidence in the APC-led administration at both the state and national levels.

“By what we have seen here today, we are confident that Jigawa is for the APC. People are satisfied with the developmental strides in education, health, roads, water supply, agriculture, and other sectors,” he stated.

He welcomed the new members, saying, “Feel free and feel at home — the APC is your home. It is the largest party in Africa and the only one that provides room for everyone to participate.”

Earlier, Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi, revealed that the defectors came from the PDP, NNPP, and ADC.

Presenting a comprehensive list of the new members to the National Chairman, Governor Namadi said the document contained the names, villages, wards, and local government areas of all the defectors.

He reaffirmed his commitment to carrying all party members along to promote unity and progress within the APC. The governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his exemplary leadership and dedication to national development.
